Register for a Hotmail! E-mail Account

1. After your parents have given written approval for you to have an e-mail accountm, please do the following.
2. Point your browser to http://www.hotmail.com
3. Click on “Sign Up Here!”
4. Read and approve the Terms of Service by clicking on “I Accept”
5. Fill out the form completely:
6. Your login name should be in the form yourfirstname0000   or some other number as approved by Mr. Jackson or Ms. Pariseau. Don’t use any spaces. Use only lower case letters and numbers.
7. Choose a password with only lower case letters, numbers and underscores. KEEP IT PRIVATE! Type your password a 2nd time so the computer understands.
8. Fill out the rest of the form. For your last name, use the words Isla Vista. This will hide your real last name.
9. Answer all of the other questions.
10. Once your name and password have been approved, log onto the Hotmail! service at http://www.hotmail.com. Look around. Click on the “Options” button and then on the “Signature” button. Create your e-mail signature with your first name, your last name of “Isla Vista” and your e-mail name in chevrons (like this: <yourname0000@hotmail.com>.
11. Send Mr. Jackson an e-mail to his e-mail address:
    peterj@silcom.com
12. Put Mr. Jackson’s e-mail address in your address book (hint: click on “Addresses”).
13. Put your friends’ names and e-mail addresses in your e-mail address book.
